Apex homes span a wide range of ages. The older houses near downtown and the 1990s subdivisions, including Abbington, Woodcreek, and Haddon Hall, are in the 1978 to 1995 window when polybutylene was used in the Triangle, and some still have it. Newer homes have PEX or copper, with their own failure points at fittings and valves. When we find one leak, we look at the condition of the pipe around it before suggesting a patch.
A repipe makes sense when the leaks keep coming: repeated pinholes, polybutylene that is failing at several fittings, or a patch that is the third in a few years. It is a bigger job, and we do not push it. If one repair will hold, we say so. If you want to compare, we will give you both prices. For leaks under a slab, see slab leak repair in Apex, and for water you cannot stop, our emergency plumber service.
Our shop is at 3460 Apex Pkwy, and we work Monday through Saturday, 7:00 to 18:00. Shut off the main water valve first if water is spreading, then call. For everything else we do in town, see our Apex plumber page.
