Raleigh has a wide range of housing. Older homes in Central Raleigh, including many inside the Beltline, can still have original valves and supply lines behind the tile, sometimes galvanized steel that is corroded inside. Those are the jobs where the valve behind the wall decides the scope, and we tell you what we find before work goes further. In many of those homes a bathroom remodel is the moment to replace what is behind the wall, while it is open.
In North Raleigh, many homes were built in the 1980s and 1990s, and their original builder-grade tub and shower valves, drains, and spouts are now old enough to drip and leak. Homes from roughly 1978 to 1995 in the Triangle may also have polybutylene supply piping, which fails at fittings. If a stain appears under a bathroom, a small leak at the drain or valve is the usual cause, and our leak repair work often starts there. Whether we reach the drain from a crawlspace, an access panel, or through the floor depends on the house.
