Drips from the spout
A steady drip with the handle off is a worn cartridge, washer, or valve seat. Often a repair is enough. When the seat is pitted or the faucet is corroded, replacing the faucet costs you less over time.
Faucet Repair and Replacement
A drip you can hear at night, a handle that will not turn, or a faucet that finally gave out: faucet repair is some of the most common work we do in Chapel Hill. We repair what is worth repairing, replace what is not, and give you the price in writing before we start.

Faucet Repair and Installation
Most faucet repair calls in Chapel Hill are one of these six. Tell us which one sounds like yours.
A steady drip with the handle off is a worn cartridge, washer, or valve seat. Often a repair is enough. When the seat is pitted or the faucet is corroded, replacing the faucet costs you less over time.
Water at the base of the spout or around the handle means a worn O-ring or seal. Those are repairable on many faucets. We check whether parts are still available before we quote.
A handle that is hard to turn is usually mineral scale or a worn cartridge. Low flow at one faucet is a clogged aerator or cartridge, not low house pressure. We find which before we recommend anything.
A hose bib that drips from the stem or leaks inside the wall after winter needs attention. We repair or replace outdoor faucets and install frost-free sillcocks, which shut off inside the warm wall instead of at the exterior.
If you cannot stop the water at the fixture, any faucet repair becomes a trip to the main. We replace stuck or weeping stop valves and the supply lines with them.
Faucets come in one-hole, three-hole, and widespread layouts, and the holes in the counter or sink decide what fits. In older homes the holes may not match the faucet you picked. Tell us the model and we will tell you what it needs before the install day.
Clear Answers
Kitchen, bath, or outdoor, what it is doing, and a photo of the faucet and the cabinet. If you bought a new faucet, send us the model.
We check the cartridge, seat, supply lines, and shutoffs. You hear which parts are worth repairing and which are not, and you get the price in writing.
We do the work, then run hot and cold, check the aerator and every connection, and make sure the shutoffs close.
Chapel Hill Homes
Older homes around Chapel Hill and near the UNC campus often have aging supply lines and fixtures. A faucet from decades ago may have a one-off hole spacing, a corroded valve, or no stop valves under it at all. Before we promise a swap, we look at the sink or vanity holes and the supply connections, and we tell you if the new faucet you picked will fit or needs an adapter.
Neighborhoods like Southern Village, Meadowmont, and Governors Club have builder-grade faucets now at the end of their life. Moderately hard Triangle water leaves scale in cartridges and aerators, which is why stiff handles and low flow are such common calls. Outdoor faucets matter here too. If a hose bib drips or has been leaking inside the wall since winter, we will repair or replace it.

Helpful Details
It depends on the faucet, whether parts are available, and whether the shutoffs and supply lines need replacing. We give you the price in writing before we start and nothing is done until you approve it. Call (919) 679-1275 or send a photo.
If the faucet is in good shape and the drip is a worn cartridge or seal, repair is often enough. If the finish is failing, parts are hard to find, or the valve seat is pitted, replacing it makes more sense. We tell you which applies.
Yes. Send us the model before the visit. We will tell you if the hole layout, the deck thickness, or the supply connections will not work, so there are no surprises.
If only one faucet is weak, the cause is usually a clogged aerator or a worn cartridge. Scale from our moderately hard water is a common culprit. If every fixture is weak, the problem is elsewhere in the house, and we can look at that too.
A drip at the stem is usually a worn packing or washer and can be repaired. A faucet that leaks inside the wall needs closer attention. We repair or replace the hose bib and can install a frost-free sillcock.
Yes. Old valves stick or weep, and they are the first thing that fails when someone tries to use them. We replace the valve and supply line together, and it is quick when the cabinet is already open.
